Dry Oil: What it is and how to use

Lean Goslett

As strange as this concept may seem, a dry oil does indeed exist! In this blog post we will help demystify what a dry oil is and how to use it.

Gone are the days of body and face oils leaving a greasy residue and making you look and feel like an oily mess. The use of the word dry refers to the finish these advanced formulation oils leave on your skin. They absorb completely, leaving you with wonderfully soft, hydrated skin. A few minutes after application, you won’t even feel like you have applied any oil to your skin. You will just be left with the wonderful after effects.

Dry oils are characterized by the following properties:

  • No greasiness
  • Lightweight
  • Does not leave a wet, oily residue on your skin

How do you use a dry oil effectively?

For your skin

  • For maximum hydration benefits for your body, apply your dry oil right after you take a shower to help lock in moisture.

Skin Nutrition recommends: Skin Nutrition Bronze Oil or Prime + Glow Oil

  • For use as an excellent hydrating make-up primer, apply a few drops to your face using your fingers before applying your foundation, or add a few drops to your foundation for more dewy, glowing-looking foundation.

Skin Nutrition recommends: Prime + Glow Oil or Shimmer Oil

  • For luminous, bright skin, apply a few drops to your face or body for a wonderful healthy glow.

For your hair

If you have frizzy hair, dry oils can help tame the frizz while adding shine.

  • If you want to tame the frizz: Apply dry oils to wet hair
  • If you want to add shine, use it as a finishing product in your hair

You can also add these dry oils to your scalp as part of an overnight nourishing treatment.

Skin Nutrition recommends: Prime + Glow Oil. If you would like to add a bit of a glowing shimmer to your hair with the same amazing benefits, we recommend Shimmer Oil or Bronze Oil

But that’s not all! Did you know that you can also apply dry oils to your nails and cuticles?

Take a few drops and massage onto your nails and cuticles. This will help condition your cuticles and strengthen your nails.

Now that you can consider yourself an expert on what a dry oil is and how to use it, the only question that remains is… which dry oil are you going to use?
